Christmas Cheer

I know I say this alot, but time seems to go by really fast. It's only four days until Christmas and if you are Nathan you say three because Christmas Eve counts as Christmas. The month of November and December were so much fun. The following is a top ten list of great things we have done the past two months:
1. Go to Utah to see our family. We really miss them and we can't wait to play in the snow with them soon.
2. Thanksgiving in Iowa. Nick and Michelle are the best.
3. Santa came to our house. We told him how much we are needing barbies and an umbrella.
4. Gingerbread houses. It's up to three decorated houses now.
5. Decorating the Christmas tree. Good thing all of our ornaments are from walmart and are plastic or else we would have no ornaments left.
6. Grandpa Rigby coming to see us. Nothing better than grandparents.
7. Parties, parties and more parties. We are grateful to have such great friends to get together with.
8. Wrapping the presents and asking everyday if we can open the presents yet.
9. Making a chain and letting Caroline cut one off per day so she stops asking if she can open presents.
10. We couldn't wait and I definitely could see. We are having a boy.

Merry Christmas! We love you all.

The month of October has come and gone and I am actually a little bit happy about it. The adventures have continued in the Rigby home and we are happy to share our little moments with you.

For those who do not know we are officially letting you know that we are going to have a baby! We are due around the first of May and we are very excited to have this new addition come into our home. The first few months seemed to be really rough on mom, but we are almost at 15 weeks and it seems to be calming down. The best part is that we are keeping gender a secret until the end. Mostly to bug my dad, but it will also be fun to have a surprise in the hospital. We hope you all had a great Halloween and we hope you survive the holidays. Love you all.

Warning!
One or more (well maybe just one) of the following pictures may cause burning, itching and watery eyes. In rare cases blindness may occur. Proceed at your own risk.

Speedo boy and his trusty side kick prego girl. Yes, we did win funniest costume. Proud? Not so sure about that! Maybe a little ashamed that I actually posted this picture.
Trick or Treating on Halloween was so much fun. I stayed home to continue on my family tradition of homemade donuts, while Nathan took the kids out for some candy. They were so adorable and I had a tear come to my eye as they walked down the street. They are growing up so fast. We also did some trick or treating at Walmart. It's hard to describe if you don't go, but pretty much the whole building turns into a candy factory. We had candy coming out of our ears. Anyone in need of some extra candy minus the twix bars!?

Carving pumpkins

Scary faces!

My first half marathon in Kansas city ! So, Nathan wasn't too happy about my running, but he knows when to let me just do my thing. I am just proud to say that I could do it. Thanks to all my running buddies for helping me. It was also a special treat because Nick and Michelle came down too. I love family. Thanks everybody for helping me survive the day.

The Many Adventures Of Us

I have finally realized that October will always be a busy month for us, but I feel like this month has been crazier than I expected. A lot of ups and a few downs. It's definitely been exciting at our house the past couple of weeks and it will only get more exciting. Here is some of our adventures so far ...

The Party Thing
We did a little birthday party for Caroline with her friends. She was so excited and helped color the invitations. It's amazing to see how fast your kids grow up. I am enjoying this little girl so much. She has so much fun at the party. We played pin the smile on the pumpkin, we had a scavenger hunt, we decorated pumpkin cookies and did the whole cake and presents thing. What a fun day and Rex was loving it just as much. He adores his sister and wants to be just like her.
My birthday Boy
It was Nathans birthday and I surprised him with a getaway to Dallas to see the U2 concert at the new Cowboy stadium. It was so much fun and the best concert that both of us had ever been to. We both love creating memories for one another and this is one we will always remember. We knew every song which made the performance even better. Most of all it was so fun to be with Nathan. Not very often do we get to sleep in together and spend time with just the two of us. I love Nathan so much. He is my best friends and I am so grateful that he is my partner forever. Thanks Nathan for being the man that you are, and being such a wonderful husband, father, friends, worker, leader, brother, son and everything else that you are.

No More Rigby's Jumping On The Bed
We returned home from our fun getaway picked up our kids at the friends house and within ten minutes Caroline decided to jump off the bed and break her arm. She was so sad. We asked her if she wanted to get a toy or candy after it was all over and she said "I want you to take my hurt away". That just about made my heart break. She broke both bones between her wrist and elbow on her right arm and it almost broke through the skin. Thank goodness for drugs, because her hurt was gone really fast. She was a champion and she seems to be adjusting really well. No more monkeys jumping on the bed for this family.

Birthday Girl
It was our Lina Lou's birthday and it was so much fun spending this day with her. She is such a fun little spirit in our home and we can't imagine what life would be like without her. She loves to play dress up, play with barbies, run around and wrestle with the boys and sing and dance. She loves going to school and playing with all of her friends. She is always the life of the party. She is such a curious little girl who always so excited about life. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with her, but we wouldn't have it any other way. She weighs about a whopping 23 lbs right now, but what she lacks in bulk she makes up for in personality. She has got this little smokers voice right now, that we hope she grows out of, but it makes us laugh. We love her so much and are so proud of who she has become so far. We can't wait to see what she has in store for us tomorrow!

I love watching my kids interact with one another. It makes makes my heart happy to see them enjoy each other so much. Rexy pretty much worships the ground Lina walks on and Lina has to make sure Rexy is always with us. I always ask Caroline who her best friends is, hoping she will say mommy, but she always says "Rexy Boy". I guess I can handle being second best or maybe even third, seeing that daddy can do no wrong.
We have loved having vistors and we invite all others to come see what the south is all about. No, serious we love having visitors! Brett and Jess made a weekend trip so Nathan and Brett could renew friendships and watch the BYU game. Thanks Brett and Jess for the entertaining weekend. My brother Nate and his wife Kris also came to visit. There is nothing better than being with family and I have to give them props because they are the first to come out of all siblings on my side. Thanks for the visit guys.
Other events this past month: I ran a 10k, Rex added "shoe" and "no" to his vocab(it's a big deal when your child says very few words and he's going on two). Caroline has begun to ask question all the time and she won't take "I don't know" as an answer. Nathan found a new cliff to jump off of at the lake. We are plugging along and enjoying the ride.

Aloha!

We had such a great time in paradise or better known as Hawaii. There is nothing better than being with family on a beautiful island. We had a ton of adventures, lot's of relaxing, good food and way too much fun. Our camera broke due to a gigantic wave so all of our activities are not here, but they definitely were fun. Thanks mom and dad for making this possible for all of us. We really appreciate all that you do for our family and we love, love, love you so much.
